Finder opens to everyone

Anyone can now browse Finder on the web without a BenchApp account, so games your team posts can reach players who haven't signed up yet. Editing scores also follows your sport's rules more closely.

Browse Finder Without an Account

Finder on the web no longer asks visitors to log in first. It shows a list of games teams have posted next to a map, starting near the visitor's city, and Use my location narrows it to where they are. Players show by first name and last initial, and the map shows how many players are around an area, never where a player is.

Choosing a game, a player or a player count asks the visitor to create a free account or log in. After they sign up or log in, they go straight back to Finder, and to the game they picked if they chose one. Teams that post a game in Finder can now be found by people who aren't on BenchApp yet.

Improvements

  • On the web, Finder's map shows each game as a label with its sport and team name, player counts as small numbered circles, and the zoom buttons in the bottom corner, clear of the back button.
  • Editing a score on a game's box score uses your sport's periods, scoring words and assist rules, and only asks for a time when the sport keeps one.
  • Empty fields in Profile and your team settings say "Not set" in a lighter shade instead of showing example values.

Fixes

  • RSVP Notifications lists spares under Spares instead of Roster, including on reminders sent earlier.
  • In the list of who reacted to a message, everyone shows clearly, not just you.
